The Preparation Guide for Autumn Equinox

Happy Autumn Equinox Earthlings!

This is the time of year when day and night are nearly equal, masculine and feminine energies are perfectly balanced.

Mabon, or the autumnal equinox, is a late September harvest festival. This year it falls on September 22nd at 3:20pm Eastern Time. Here are a few tips to help you make the most this special time and season. The ones that appeal to you and work best for your region and time are yours to choose from! This season is all about berries, grapes, apples, and other mid-harvest crops. Mabon is an equinox with equal day and night length.

Winter preparations are underway. From ancient Greece to modern Oktoberfest, it's time to acknowledge the coming darkness while thanking the sun. This season has been celebrated for centuries to honour gods and goddesses. The Harvest Festival of Mabon is celebrated with wine or grape juice and ceremonial grains such as wheat, corn, and soybeans. You can make a small altar with such gifts from nature and appreciate all that has been given.

Many people associate cleaning with springtime, but autumn is also a good time to clean and prepare for the winter. Do your cleaning process mindfully count each blessing and give thanks for everything that you have.

This might be a good time to stop harmful relationships, hobbies, or self-destructive habits. The Mabon season is a time to reflect and plan for the coming year.

It's also a good opportunity to consider long-term goals and what you want to accomplish over the following four quarters of the year. Set goals for the coming year and create a plan to achieve them. All it takes is one baby step at a time. And soon, looking back, you’ll see how far you have come.

This is a Sacred Moment to go within and find balance within ourselves. I wish you all the best and beautiful deep inner and outer experiences.

With love and gratitude,

Doni Amoris
